Haayyy, gaiz. I’m back from France! 😀 Miss me? Of course you did. XD ❤ I had a great time, I’ll make my next post about my trip and I’ll include some pics, too. 😛
Now to my real point. 😀 I have some new ideas in mind. From now on [I hope], I will be trying my best to pick a phrase out of each of my posts [or a word] and put it as my title. Then, whenever that word/phrase comes up, I will bold it. Cool idea, yeah?
Now for the new books. I recently finished reading The Prince of Tides and I can now say that it is one of my favorite books. It is an amazing story about a man named Tom Wingo’s horrible and troubling past, and the present of making himself a new man. I highly recommend this book to all readers, except for those who cannot stand abuse or racism. [Since Tom was raised in the south in the 1960’s (I think?) you can expect both of those things.] But I do mean, cannot STAND AT ALL. I hate both passionately, but not enough to keep me from reading the book. The Prince of Tides is also rather depressing, but I tend to like those kind of stories.
All the same, I think all of you should read it. I personally believe the ending is the best part. 🙂
I am now looking for a new book to read, since Harry Potter series is done, and I find Mysterious Benedict Society quite interesting. I found it looking on the B&N Recommends page on http://www.bn.com. It says it is a great read for after Harry Potter, and all Harry Potter fans should find it at least pretty good. I plan to read it myself.
I also found Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It’s been out for a while, and I think it’s time to finally read it. I will now provide you with the link and synopsis for each book I have listed. 🙂
The Prince of Tides
Link: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/The-Prince-of-Tides/Pat-Conroy/e/9780553381542/?itm=2
Synopsis: Pat Conroy’s dark novel exposes a terrible family secret behind recollected Carolina pastorale. The middleaged protagonist, with the help of a sympathetic female psychiatrist, confronts that repressed horror. The film was directed by Barbara Streisand and starred Streisand and Nick Nolte; the novel like all of Conroy’s work was a bestseller.
Annotation: [I believe it is best to include this as well.] Spanning 40 years, this is the story of turbulent Tom Wingo, his gifted and troubled twin sister Savannah, and the dark and violent past of the extraordinary family into which they were born.

Synopsis:
“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.” So begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton-and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers-and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Can she vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry? Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you’d actually want to read.
Thanks for reading. 🙂 ❤
